The size of the image.

When people talk about the size of photos, it is meant the size or photo, or the size of the image.

And the size of the image can be measured in centimeters, if it comes to printing pictures, or “pixels”, if displaying photos on a computer monitor (when sending email or posting on the website, etc.).
Open any photo file in Adobe Photoshop.
It appeared in a new window. And in the title bar, right after the name of the file shows the image scale in percentage. Since computer displays the image on the monitor is not in inches but in pixels, the 100% real pictures taken in “pixels” (for example, so photos are looking out on the internet).

To change the scale display photos in Adobe Photoshop, click the “View / View”,
and “Actual Size / Actual pixels” (or “current pixels”) - is the actual size in pixels,
or “Fit to screen / Fit on Screen” - the scale is easy to view pictures in full (if the picture is very big - it reduces the scale of the size of your screen)
or “Printed size / Print size” - is the size, close to what would be the image after printing to a printer or photo lab.

But changing the scale of the display photos you do not change its actual size. Adjust the scale is only for the convenience of editing.

Resizing images is implemented in the window “Image size”: “Figure / Image”, then “Image Size / Image size”. In this window it is important for us two lines: “width / width” and “height / height”. In them you see the numbers, and what length and width measurements (pixels, centimeters, etc.). Pay attention to ‘Keep aspect ratio / Constrain Proportions “- with photo editing, it should be activated (ticks). Make the necessary changes (for example - 300 pixels width or height) and then press “Ok”.
