If you have already tried your hand at it, and it attracts you - start preparing for the pre-season photo.

What you need to prepare in advance? - First and foremost, of course, hardware. To think that it is you do not have enough to complete happiness. Experiment with light. Good quality lighting in the macro is very important, not less than the micro or Extension rings packed with lenses. Here’s just forget about it often, paying attention seeking or producing macro sets.

Then – do not get lazy with the search of objects of macro-hunting. Honest words, knowledge does not burden you, it’s so interesting - to know whom you are shooting. Of course, to see who shot at a picture, you may later, but sometimes knowledge of insect behavior will help to find him, will facilitate a quality frame.

When people talk about the size of photos, it is meant the size or photo, or the size of the image.

And the size of the image can be measured in centimeters, if it comes to printing pictures, or “pixels”, if displaying photos on a computer monitor (when sending email or posting on the website, etc.).
Open any photo file in Adobe Photoshop.
It appeared in a new window. And in the title bar, right after the name of the file shows the image scale in percentage. Since computer displays the image on the monitor is not in inches but in pixels, the 100% real pictures taken in “pixels” (for example, so photos are looking out on the internet).

To change the scale display photos in Adobe Photoshop, click the “View / View”,
and “Actual Size / Actual pixels” (or “current pixels”) - is the actual size in pixels,
or “Fit to screen / Fit on Screen” - the scale is easy to view pictures in full (if the picture is very big - it reduces the scale of the size of your screen)
or “Printed size / Print size” - is the size, close to what would be the image after printing to a printer or photo lab.

But changing the scale of the display photos you do not change its actual size. Adjust the scale is only for the convenience of editing.

Resizing images is implemented in the window “Image size”: “Figure / Image”, then “Image Size / Image size”. In this window it is important for us two lines: “width / width” and “height / height”. In them you see the numbers, and what length and width measurements (pixels, centimeters, etc.). Pay attention to ‘Keep aspect ratio / Constrain Proportions “- with photo editing, it should be activated (ticks). Make the necessary changes (for example - 300 pixels width or height) and then press “Ok”.

Digital photo - is an image consisting of many small points - “pixels.” These points are not visible in photographs because they are very small and merge into the line.

But if you open a digital photo on your computer using Adobe Photoshop or ACDSee (or another program to view the images), and maximize the image tool Magnifier / Zoom you will see a mosaic of colored squares.

These are the squares and are called “pixels.” Of these blocks consists a digitized image.

The more “pixels” are smaller, but their numbers more, the better is the image quality. This feature is called the image “resolution” and is measured in the number of “pixels” per inch (dpi or ppi) or the “megapixel” - the number of dots (pixels) across the photo. Standard definition is considered to be 300 dpi (pixels per inch).
If you have a 2-3 megapixel camera, you will receive only small (10×15) photographs of good quality.
